This EAD relates to rubber modified bitumen binders with a penetration at 25°C of 15-80 (0.1 mm) and a softening point of > 53°C.

Rubber modified bitumen binders consist of paving grade bitumen to EN 125911 with one or more of the following types: 35/50, 50/70, 70/100, 100/150 or 160/220, and crumb rubber made from recycled tyres with a largest particle size of 1,25 mm and foreign mater content less than 0,1 wt% (percentage by mass).The minimum rubber content is 5 w% (percentage by mass) and maximum rubber content is 25 wt% (percentage by mass) of rubber modified bitumen binders.

Rubber modified bitumen binders may also contain additives to improve their properties and processability.The additives can be aromatic oils, crosslinkers or waxes. Depending on the type of additive used, it can promote the compatibility of the crumb rubber and paving grade bitumen, the dissolution of the crumb rubber in the bitumen, and improve the usability of the binders; for example, the production and application temperature of the bituminous mixture can be reduced due to lower viscosity.

The product is not fully covered by harmonised technical specification EN 14023, due to the following reasons:

·Unlike polymer modified bitumen products, rubber modified bitumen binders are not homogenous binders, they contain undissolved particles, mainly rubber crumb particles.

·Cohesion is not a relevant essential characteristic of rubber modified bitumen binders. Its purpose is to confirm the polymer content of polymer modified bitumen binders and to discriminate between polymer modified bitumens and other bituminous binders.

·Measurement of elastic recovery at 10°C or 25"C (EN 13398) cannot be performed for rubber modified bitumen binders with higher rubber content because the specimen cannot be stretched up to 200 mm without breaking

Concerning product packaging. transport, storage, maintenance, replacement and repair it is the responsibilty of the manufacturer to undertake the appropriate measures and to advise his clients on the transport, storage, maintenance, replacement and repair of the product as he considers necessary.

It is assumed that the product will be installed according to the manufacturer's instructions or (in absence of such instructions) according to the usual practice of the building professionals.

Relevant manufacturer's stipulations, e.g. with regard to the intended end use conditions, having influence on the performance of the product covered by this European Assessment Document shall be considered for the determination of the performance and detailed in the ETA as long as the details of the assessment methods as laid down in this EAD are respected.

What is an EAD?什么是EAD？

A European Assessment Document, or EAD for short, is a harmonised technical specification developed by EOTA as the basis for European Technical Assessments (ETAs).上海郜盟提示欧洲评估文件（简称EAD）是由欧洲技术认证组织（EOTA）制定的统一技术规范，作为欧洲技术评估（ETA）的基础。

In combination with the ETA, the EAD provides manufacturers with a way to CE marking for construction products that are not or not fully covered by a harmonised European standard (hEN) under the Construction Products Regulation (EU) 305/2011. The CE marking allows the manufacturer to freely market his product in the entire European Economic Area as well as in Switzerland and Turkey.

-timber treatments (preservatives, fire and flame retardants) are used, and/or

-recycled material is used.
